The term 'the company' or 'EVENTPARK AFRICA' or 'we' or 'us' or 'our' in this Policy refers to EVENTPARK AFRICA and any affiliates or subsidiaries of EVENTPARK AFRICA that links to this Policy. This Policy describes how the site(s) may collect, use, and share information from or about you, and explains how information may be collected and used for advertising purposes.

EVENTPARK AFRICA takes the privacy of your information very seriously. Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Site and any services we offer via the Site, you are agreeing to be bound by this Policy in respect of the information collected about you via this Site.

As a Customer, you accept this Policy when you sign up for, access, or use our products, services, content, features, technologies or functions offered on our website and all related sites, applications, and services.

This Policy is intended to govern the use of the Site by users. Users reserve the right to exercise their data protection rights as listed under the Customer Rights.

This Policy regulates how personal information will be used within the Company. To preserve the confidentiality of your data, we maintain the controls in place for privacy.

This Privacy Policy is presented to users at all primary points of data collection, including during account registration, vendor onboarding, and checkout.

Collection of Information

We will collect the following information from you:

  • Name, username, gender, date of birth/age;
  • Email address, postal address, telephone number;
  • Your interests
  • Account number, credit card number and expiry date, BVN
  • Utility bill, passport photograph, signature, means of identification
  • Merchant and acquirer Information

Although it is not compulsory to give us this information, if you do not then we may not be able to provide you with the full range of services that the Site has to offer. Information is collected electronically and manually when they visit our website and register to use any of our services.

Information is collected electronically with exchanges between your system or service provider's system and our system.

We collect your information manually when you complete our product and services registration forms in registering to use any of our services. Similar information is also collected when customers or visitors' visit our physical locations for inquiries or business relationships.

Use of this Information

We will use this information to:

  • Administer your accounts with us;
  • Process connections, orders, requests or applications submitted by you;
  • Send you information about our products and services;
  • Carry out marketing analysis and make general improvements to our Site;

We only store data for the purpose which it was collected for. The retention period for Storage of data is also largely determined by Legal and Regulatory bodies.

Finally, we may contact you as necessary to enforce our policies, applicable law, or any agreement we may have with you

We protect your information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration

We run a secure security architecture from applications, software and processes to secure data from outsiders and abuse from insiders.

We use advanced tools to secure data at rest and data in transit.

We comply with a management system for business continuity, quality management, information security and payment cards

Only a few employees based on role-based access are permitted by the US to have access to personal information.

Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and information access authorization controls. We have also taken additional measures by ensuring our system complies with industry information security standards.

Data Retention Policy

We retain data according to the following schedule

  • KYC/Identity data – 5 years post-account closure (regulatory requirement)
  • Transaction data – 6 years
  • Marketing preference data – Until user opts out
  • General activity/logs – 12–24 months, depending on relevance

Sharing this Information

Certain services available on this Site are offered in conjunction with one or more of our business partners

The services shall include:

  • Providing requested vendor service(s)
  • Bookings
  • Referrals were requested or permitted
  • Receiving or making payments

For those services to be provided we provide some necessary details about you to our business partners. We tell you about this at the point we collect that information on the Site. Please note that certain services may be unavailable if you do not want to disclose the personal information you are asked for.

Where personal information is transferred or processed outside Nigeria, EventPark AFRICA ensures appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses, data encryption, and compliance with applicable laws.

In addition, we may pass your information onto one of our carefully selected business partners or to other carefully selected third parties to enable them to send you information which may be of interest to you but only if you have permitted us to do so. You can tell us to stop this at any time by sending an email.

Other than as set out above, we will not disclose any of your personal information without your permission unless we are required by law to do so (for example, if required to do so by a court order or for prevention of fraud or other crime).

Customer Rights

  • The right to access your data is held by us.

  • The right to erase personal information if there is no Legal or Regulatory requirement that this is held.

Upon opting out of your data being processed or the deletion of personal data the following functionalities may be affected:

  • Ability to make or receive bookings
  • Receipt of personalised recommendations
  • Access to certain promotional offers or features that rely on your personal data

We will notify you in advance if any critical service functionality will be impacted by your request.

Information Automatically Collected from your Computer

We and our third-party service providers may collect and use other information in a variety of ways, including:

Log files/IP addresses: When you visit the Site our web server automatically records your IP address. This IP address is not linked to any of your personal information. We use IP addresses to help us administer the Site and to collect demographic information for aggregation purposes.

Other technologies including pixel tags, web beacons, and clear GIFs: These may be used in connection with some Site pages, downloadable mobile applications and HTML-formatted email messages to measure the effectiveness of our communications, the success of our marketing campaigns, to compile statistics about usage and response rates, to personalize/tailor your experience while engaging with us online and offline, for fraud detection and prevention, for security purposes, for advertising, and to assist us in resolving account holders' questions regarding use of our Site.
